Ige Premiers Amid Ovations

Ige, the unlikely oil merchant, is an inspirational story of ambition and tenacity with a splash of love which follows the wonderful journey of a young man destined for greatness. It tells the childhood and ‘grass to grace’ story of an oil and gas magnate, Aare Bashir Fakorede. Produced by Toyin Abraham, Moyo Fakorede and directed by Biodun Stephen, the movie stars Toyin Abraham, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Bimbo Ademoye, Adetola Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola, Teddy A, Oyebade Adebimpe, Jaiye Kuti and many other amazing talents.

The movie was premiered at IMAX Cinemas, Lagos during the 50th birthday celebration of the wife of the Chairman of Bash Distinct Oil, Mrs Tayo Fakorede. The premier had a lot of personalities in attendance. They include the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi; Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Toyin Abraham, Bimbo Ademoye, Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola Oyebade Adebimpe and Jaiye Kuti.

Speaking about the movie, Mrs Fakorede said: “The movie is to encourage the youths and teach them that hard work and determination pay and that most successful people don’t just wake up in a day and become rich.

There is always a story behind those successes. I have noticed that the youths of these days are always on the fast lane, and movie is also a way of telling them to ‘calm down’. When they watch the movie, they will understand the reason why it’s good to grow in their own pace.”
