The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has clarified that many intending travellers were arrested by security agents for possessing fake COVID-19 laboratory test results.
The Director General of the NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, disclosed this yesterday at the PTF briefing and cautioned travellers against patronising unapproved testing centres.
Ihekweazu said: “Last week, many intending travellers were turned back and handed over security agents for attempting to travel with fake laboratory results. Sometimes these results were procured by agents but everyone has to take responsibility for his indiscretions.”
He advised intending travellers to always patronise government accredited COVID-19 laboratories.
