We Won’t Tolerate Indecent Dressing, Chrisland University VC Tells New Students

Newly admitted students to Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, have been charged to dress decently and modestly, as the institution will not tolerate any act of indiscipline or loose conducts, among its students.

The charge was given on Thursday by the Vice Chancellor, Prof (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace Babalola, during the univetsity’s matriculaton ceremony.

Babalola, who said parents had been made to sign undertakings as guarantee for their children’s good conduct, said her team would go the extra mile to ensure that the students excel in learning and character.

“Be modest and decent in your dressing and approach to issues. I must also add that university is all about learning but also about character.

“I applaud the parents and guardians for choosing Chrislaand University. I admired the way you came personally for the interviews and how you cooperated with us.

“Recall that you signed and agreed with your children to abide by the rules and regulations. Please keep up with it and support the university in molding the students to be the best they can be,” Babalola stated.

She added that the University had zero tolerance for cultism or any form of hooliganism and corruption.

“I need to further advise you to show respect to your colleagues and staff in the University to make your stay fruitful and productive,” she appealed to the new entrants.

Babalola recalled that the 2020/21 academic session had turned a big challenge to the academic community owing to the COVID-19 panfemic but expressrd relief that authorities of Chris land University had brainstormed and were able to overcome the challenge.

“This is a season of blended learning (virtual and physical). I am proud to inform you that at Chrisland University, we hold the view that positive opportunity lies in every crisis or challenge hence, our drive for new strategies in dealing with our current challenges,” she noted.

The VC also announced that the university recently appointed Babafemi Badejo as the first Chrisland University Professor, after a thorough assessment by national and international experts.

“He has been appointed a Professor of Political Science/International Relations,” she said.

A total number of 300 students were matriculated, being the first phase of admission that will close next June.
