My Music Has A Message for Nigerians, Says Chyzzi

Nigeria’s Afrobeat rising star, Chyzzi, has said that he is preaching a message to Nigerians and the world through his music.

The twenty-six-year-old conscious music singer, whose real name is Harrison Chimzim Anokwuru, said that his romance with music began at a very young age; adding that he has always been very passionate about music. He disclosed that his musical journey started while singing in the choir.

The Afrobeat exponent stated that he had his primary and secondary education in Nigeria; did some schooling in Ghana before moving to North Cyprus to complete his tertiary education. Chyzzi averred that it was in North Cyprus that he had the opportunity to practice and make music for himself.
Commenting on his lyrics and music, he said, “My everyday experience and background play a huge role in my lyrics and this helps me pass a message with my music and most times it is directed towards young individuals.

Every environment I find myself plays a role to inspire me as I often use my day-to-day experience and vices in society as a message in my tunes.
The aim is to create sweet music with consciousness to inspire the youths, spread love and empower the listeners via motivational verses.”

The lyrical genius said he made his debut in 2017 with a chart topping, wave making, hit single entitled, “Paranoid” and featured his label mate on the track and went on to drop another smashing hit entitled “Bomb”. He added that in 2019, he dropped another track entitled “Approve” which featured popular Nigerian artiste “Ceeza Milli”.

He said the track got everyone talking and solidified his position as a conscious artiste. Chyzzi described himself as an advocate of good music and stressed the need for Nigerian music acts to create their own unique sounds, push the gospel of Afrobeat all over the world.
“Nigeria is a blessed country musically and as we all know we’re the pioneers of the Afrobeat sounds, the growth of Afrobeat worldwide is a huge sign that the world has been sleeping on what we have to offer as they’re now aware of it.

“The way Afrobeat is growing is like a virus as it seems not to be stopping anytime soon and it pleases me to travel all over the world to see our music being accepted even in non-English speaking countries. I am glad to be in the generation and musicians to take this to the next level and I urge other African musicians to join in the movement to push Afrobeat to the world,” Chyzzi advised.
He averred that he is a strong believer in the unity of Nigerian music artistes, adding that they should support one another.

When asked about his source of inspiration, the global artiste had this to say: “I grew up listening to different musicians and sounds but I must say my idol has always been my Dad (God rest his soul), although he never had a chance to do it professionally, but he was so good in creating good melodies through his harmonizing songs and baritone voice.
