Daayuur : I Want Recognition at Home

United Kingdom-based Nigerian singer, Dapo Aiyegbusi, whose stage is Daayuur, has revealed that despite making significant impact abroad where, it remains his priority to get recognition in his fatherland, Nigeria, as he considers it a great honor.

“To the glory of God, the love and acceptance I have received from Nigerians, Africans and others have been massive and it can only encourage me to do more. Having said that, I must confess that getting recognition back in Nigeria is still a priority for me, because charity, they say starts from home. Of course, I am in touch with my root, I mean Nigeria, my songs are on air and my fans base is growing gradually but I look forward to having my fan base grow bigger. I know I will get there pretty soon,” Daayuur said.

He added that the Corona-19 pandemic that held the world ransom has really affected all the plans he had to get more visible in Nigeria as he could not travel to honour some engagements in Nigeria as well as execute projects that have to do with his music career. He however says he’s confident 2021 would be a better year.

Daayuur, a model cum singer, is a native of Ekiti State. He describes his brand of music as Afro-pop. Dapo discovered his music talent as a child when he was a member of the choir in an orthodox church in Lagos. His passion for music grew as he eventually became a professional and a recording artiste. Daayuur presently has a couple of tracks to his credit and holds sway in the northern part of the United Kingdom where he’s based. Some of his tracks are Africa Woman, Obi, and She Carry.
