Nigeria Records 712 New COVID-19 Cases

A total of 712 cases of COVID-19 were were recorded in 20 states on Friday. Four deaths from the virus were also recorded.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 82,747, while 70239 cases have been discharged and 1246 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory so far.

According to the daily case tally posted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its website, Lagos state and FCT continued to maintain the lead with 388 and 77 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for December 25 respectively.

The breakdown for other states is as follow: Kwara (39), Katsina (35), Bauchi (33), Plateau (22), Ogun (18), Akwa Ibom (16), Delta (13), Kaduna (12), Osun (12), Yobe (11), Sokoto (10), Kebbi (8), Enugu (6), Edo (5), Ondo (3), Niger (2), Kano (1), and Oyo (1)
NCDC said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating the national response activities.
