Foundation Fosters Quality Education at Lead City Varsity

As part of its November Outreach, the Florence Modupe Foundation (FMF) has visited the Lead City University Fashion and Lifestyle Academy Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

A statement by the foundation said in line with its mission to aid equitable access to quality education and life changing skills for Africans aimed at developing future leaders, FMF donated Sewing Machines, Make-Up Chairs, Make-Up kits, Hair Dryers, Attachments, Ring Lights, mannequins and Exercise Books to the Academy.

The statement said the event which had in attendance the Founder of the Florence Modupe Foundation, Mrs. Bukola Abitoye; the Lead City University Management, led by the Vice chancellor Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo; and the Registrar Dr. Bola Ayeni.

The statement further explained that the donation of the materials and equipment is expected to aid the sustainability of the fashion academy which has graduated over 600 students since its establishment.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor Lead City University, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, expressed gratitude to the FMF and its founder for contributing to the development of the fashion academy,

He also stated that the donation of the fashion equipment and materials by the foundation would go a long way in helping the growth of the students and the centre.

In his remarks, the Programme Manager, FMF, Mr. Toyosi Ayeleso, said: “We are visiting the centre to fulfill part of the reasons for establishing the foundation which is vocational and skills development. It is one of our little steps towards educational inclusion in Africa. Our belief is that this donation will go a long way in sustaining the academy.”

In her remarks, the Founder, FMF, Mrs. Bukola Abitoye, hinted that the foundation is committed to the institutionalization of learning and development of life changing skills in Africa.

She expressed delight with the management of Lead City University for creating a centre that aids societal growth and development.

She described the exhibition of the student’s hand work to a mini trade fair, noting that her believe is that with the right support youths “can be empowered to deliver better lives for themselves and their communities.”
