#EndSARS Protest: Ayade Relaxes Curfew in C’ River

With the restoration of calm within Calabar, the Cross River State capital, and its environs following the violent the #EndSARS protest, the state government has relaxed the curfew imposed on the state, thereby allowing movement from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm.
The Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, announced the latest review of the curfew in a press release issued Friday night.
“The state governor, His Excellency Sir Ben Ayade has reviewed the curfew imposed on the state and has directed that with effect from tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, 2020, curfew hours will now be between the hours of 6pm and 6am daily.
“Restriction of movement is hereby relaxed from 6am to 6pm,” Ita said.
As of last Saturday when the #EndSARS protest, which started peacefully, gravitated to outright looting and vandalism of public and private authority, a 24-hour curfew was imposed on the state.
