Masari Mourns Wada Maida

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has expressed sadness over the death of renowned journalist and Chairman, Board of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Alhaji Wada Maida.

Masari, in a statement on Tuesday by his Director General of Media, Mr. Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, described late Maida as a close friend and associate who has served the nation meritoriously.

He said Nigeria has lost one of its finest citizens who had distinguished himself as an accomplished journalist, newspaper proprietor and administrator per excellence.

He added that in Wada’s death, Katsina State has lost one of its most illustrious sons who had served not only Katsina, but Nigeria meritoriously in various capacities, including as spokesman to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, when he was military head of state.

While condoling President Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate family, friends and associates of the deceased, he prayed to Allah to forgive him all his sins and other shortcomings.

Consequently, he urged the bereaved to take consolation, not only in the fact that all living souls must taste death, but also that the deceased had lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.
