Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Thursday stormed the Port Harcourt residence of former Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Joi Nunieh, and freed her from the barricade by policemen believed to be from the Inspector General of Police Office.
Policemen in the early hours of Thursday surrounded the house of the former acting NDDC boss, preventing her from leaving her residence.
The police later broke the back door of the house, gained access to the kitchen and tried to break the connecting door into her apartment.
However, before they could gain entrance, Wike arrived with his team of securitymen from Government House.
That was when Nunieh came out from the house and joined the governor. They drove out of the premises immediately.
It is not clear yet where they drove to, but Nunieh is billed to testify before the House of Representatives this afternoon on the alleged monumental corruption in the NDDC.
