Senate Wants FG to Name Ibadan Airport after Ajimobi

Deji Elumoye in Abuja

The Senate on Tuesday asked the federal government to name the Ibadan airport after former governor of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

This was sequel to the adoption of a motion moved by Senator Abdulfatahi Buhari and seconded by Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Senator Buhari had come under Orders 42 and 52 to eulogise late Ajimobi, who was a member of the fifth Senate from 2003 to 2007.

The upper chamber thereafter observed a minute silence in honour of Ajimobi and advised the federal government to name Ibadan airport after the late former governor..
