FG Evacuates 238 Stranded Nigerians from Turkey

The federal government has evacuated 238 stranded Nigerians and an infant from Turkey.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, disclosed this on Sunday when he tweeted through his verified Twitter handle.

He said that the evacuees whose estimated time of arrival was 9p.m on Sunday would proceed on 14 days compulsory self isolation.

Onyeama twitted: “Turkish Airlines conveying 238 Nigerian evacuees and an infant from #Cyprus, has departed for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

“Air Peace Airlines conveying 86 Nigerians is also airborne from Ankara, #Turkey to Lagos and Abuja.

“Estimated time of arrival 9.00pm. All evacuees will then Self-Isolate for the mandatory 14 days.”
