The screening panel of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki,  and two other governorship aspirants from the June 22 primary.
Announcing the outcome of the screening panel on Friday, chairman of the panel Prof Jonathan Ayuba, said Chris Ogemwonyi, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen and Obaseki were all disqualified.
Three other aspirants – Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Dr. Pius Odubu and Hon. Osaro Obazee – were cleared.
Obaseki had said after appearing before the seven-man screening committee led by Prof. Jonathan Ayuba, where he was grilled for two hours, that he did not believe he would get justice because the national chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, was an interested party in the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial primary.

He had stated: “The last time I came here, I asked that Oshiomhole recuse himself from the process in the interest of peace and justice. But as a party man, I have had to go through the screening like everybody else. Since he is the judge and the jury in this matter, I will just wait for the outcome of the screening. I have given them all the information they need; the controversial certificate from the University of Ibadan has been tendered.
“Like I said, as a party man I have gone through the screening process but I do not believe that I will get justice because Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an interested party in the Edo process.

Oshiomhole however said the screening committee report was still subject to the appeal committee if those disqualified wish to appeal.
