NACCIMA Appoints Nuka AfCTA C’ttee Scribe

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has appointed Mr. Nwiabu Legborsi Nuka as Secretary

of the NACCIMA African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA) Committee.

The appointment, which makes him the arrowhead of the private sector voice on AfCFTA in the country, is for an initial term of one year and takes effect from March 10, 2020.

The letter of appointment, which was signed by Director General, NACCIMA , Mr. Ayoola Olukanni, further listed Mr. Jhani Ibrahim as chairman of the committee while Prince David Iweta is the vice-chairman.

Other members of the committee include Mr. Ade Adefeko, Professor Jonathan Aremu as well as Olukanni.

The letter read: “NACCIMA sincerely looks forward to the pleasure of continued partnership and collaborations with you to our outlined programs for the capacity building of our members, association and Nigeria.

However, reacting to his appointment, Nuka, who is Executive Director, Nigeria Private Sector Alliance (NiPSA) told THISDAY that he is prepared to work for the betterment of the private and public sector in Nigeria.
He also extended his appreciation to the leadership of NACCIMA for the honour.

He added that the establishment of the AfCTA committee further indicated that, “the Organised Private Sector in Nigeria now has its own AfCFTA structure to engage, educate and empower the business community and other private sector entities on issues of AfCFTA.”
