The Senate on Thursday referred the 2020 revised budget proposal and the $5.513 billion external loan request to fund the budget by President Muhammadu Buhari to its Committees on Finance and Foreign and Local Loans.
The President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, who made this disclosure before the general debate on the revised budget began, gave the two committees up till next Tuesday, June 2, to submit their report at plenary.
According to him, the Senate Committee on Finance headed by Senator Adeola Olamilekan will do further legislative work on the 2020 budget and MTEF/FSP proposals, while the Senator Uba Sani-led Committee on Foreign and Local Loans will handle the $5.5.513 billion foreign loan request of the Executive.
