FG Extends Closure of Airspace by Four Weeks

The federal government has extended the closure of the country’s air space by four weeks as a precaution for the spread of COVID-19.

The Chairman President Task Force on COVID-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, made this disclosure on Wednesday at a media briefing by the task force in Abuja.

He said they made the decision after assessing the situation in the aviation industry in addition to the available facts and the advice given by experts.

With this latest development, Nigeria’s airspace and the four international airports in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt will be closed to traffic for two months.

The Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika said the closure was causing the country N21 billion as revenue loss per month.
