As a result of the COVID-19, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has postponed its forthcoming examination for pupils seeking admission into the Nigeria’s 104 unity colleges.

The examinations, which were slated for March 28 in all states of the federation, have been postponed indefinitely.

In a statement signed by its head of media and publicity, Mr. Azeez Sani, the examination body said the decision was taken in line with the government’s efforts to stem the spread of the dreaded virus in which, so far, 44 have tested positive and one death casualty.

He said: “The National Examinations Council (NECO) wishes to inform all candidates, guardians and relevant stakeholders of the indefinite postponement of the 2020 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into federal unity colleges earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

“This decision is in deference to the various measures being put in place by the federal and state governments to curtail the potential spread of COV1D-19”.

The statement said a new date for the examination will be communicated to candidates and other Stakeholders in due course.

However, the registration for the examination has continued.
