Obaseki eulogises Pst. Gabriel Oiboh, wife on their 40th marriage anniversary

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has extolled the virtues and exemplary lifestyle of Pastor Gabriel Oiboh and his wife, Deaconess Bassey as they celebrate their 40th marriage anniversary.

At a colourful anniversary ceremony held in Benin City, the Edo State Capital, Governor Obaseki described the couple as true servants of God who, through the gospel, have contributed their quota to the growth and development of the society.

Obaseki who described the clergies as people he admires from a distance, urged the couple to continue in their relentless service to God and humanity.

The governor said, “It is not too common to find people very well educated and trained, who are truly committed to the service of God and humanity. People who are decent, caring, and with a heart of gold that are truly committed to their people. This kind of people are very rare and you can barely find them in the political space. I want to commend them for their exemplary life over the years.”

“If you are opportune to have a personal encounter with Pastor Gabriel, you will want to always hold on to him, appreciate and work with him. He is an asset to Edo State and we are sincerely proud of him. My prayers are that God grant him and his wife, Deaconess Bassey, more years together, in good health and wisdom to work in his vineyard”

In his response, Pastor Gabriel Oiboh who thanked the governor for coming to honour his family, urged Obaseki to continue in his transformational reforms in the state.

The clergyman also declared his support for the second term bid of the governor, noting that Obaseki against the expectations of many, has surpassed the achievements of his predecessors.

He further assured Obaseki that the people of Edo State are happy with his reforms, policies and programmes and will continue to support him in his bid to reposition the state for growth and development.
