GOtv Boxing 18: Baby Face Returns, Vows To Crush ‘Energy’

West African Boxing Union (WABU) welterweight champion, Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, will return to action at GOTv Boxing Night 18, where he is slated to fight the tough Ganiyu “Energy” Kolawole in a challenge contest.

The GOtv Boxing NextGen graduate and former GOtv Boxing Night best boxer award winner, is scheduled to join others at the event slated to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Liberty Sadium, Ibadan, on 21 April.   For the fight, the WABU champion has promised his opponent hell.

“Energy will be in trouble from the first to the third round, when he would be knocked out. I have been out of action for a while, so I am rearing to return and do what I do best: messing up faces. Energy will have his face thoroughly messed up. Quote me. I will school him in boxing,” he said.

The fight is one the eight scheduled for the event, which will be headlined by tbe African Boxing Union (ABU) lightweight title defence of Nigeria’s Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph against Ghana’s Success “Brave Warrior” Tetteh.  The super featherweight division will also feature a title fight between Ridwan “Scorpion” Oyekola and long-reigning cchampion, Taofeek “Taozon” Bisuga.

Another big one is the international light middleweight challenge bout between Akeem “Dodo” Sadiku of Nigeria and Republic of Benin’s Ekpresso Djamihou. in a light middleweight challenge. Other big names lined

Other big names slated to be in action include Tawio “Esepo” Agbaje, best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 16; Adeyemi “Sense” Opeyemi, best boxer at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 4. The best boxer at the event, to be beamed live on SuperSport, will go home with a cash prize of N1million alongside the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy. The show will also feature three professional debutants, all graduates of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search.
