Sir Shina Peters, Ray BLK, Joey B Join Gidi Fest Line Up

The afro-juju master Sir Shina Peters will be joining previously announced artistes like Niniola and Patoranking, and at the Gidi Culture Festival happening on Easter weekend.

Plans are already underway to give music and culture enthusiasts the time of their lives. The 2019 edition will also mark the the first returning show for Nigerian-born UK based artist Ray BLK.

BLK is a British singer, songwriter, and rapper. She self-released her EP, Durt which won the BBC’s Sound of 2017, becoming the first unsigned artist to do so. The R&B singer already has a Stormzy collaboration, played a set at Glastonbury Festival and a whirlwind tour of America under her belt. Having just sold out her biggest London headline show, Gidi Fest is excited to bring her back to her birthplace in Lagos for a significant show at Landmark Beachfront, Victoria Island.

Speaking on her return to Lagos, Ray BLK says: “I’m very excited to be coming back to my hometown to perform. It will be my first ever live performance in Nigeria.”

Other artistes that will be performing at the festival include Kenya’s Blinky Bill, Ghana’s Joey B, and DJ Cuppy.
