Telemundo premiered its latest telenovela series ‘False Identity on Monday, making it the second new series of the year. As the name implies, the movie set in Mexico and United States of America tells the story of Isabel (Camila Sodi) and Diego (Luis Ernesto Franco) who are two strangers fleeing from their past to escape their enemies. In order to start a new life, they must assume new identities, yet their enemies are not relenting in their pursuit.
The series is multi-layered with themes on crime, domestic abuse and racial discrimination. Franco who is popular in playing rebellious roles will once again bring his magic on screen.
In Under the Same Sky, he captivated audience with his enigmatic charm as a prodigal son of an immigrant father. He also featured in the just concluded ‘Woman of Steel’ super series. Other faces from the latter that star in ‘False Identity’ include Sergio Goyri.
His co-star Sodi is quite new to Telemundo fans but not Sonya Smith (Husband for Hire, Passion for Revenge), who plays Franco’s mother.
False Identity airs every weekday at 9pm WAT on DStv channel 118 and GOtv channel 14.
