DSS DG Seeks Collaboration Among Security Agencies

The Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS) Yusuf Bichi, has appealed for increased collaboration among security agencies to address the security challenges in the country.

Bichi disclosed this yesterday in Lagos at a lecture with the theme: ‘Effective Inter-Service Collaboration for Enhanced National Security; Retired Personnel Perspective.’

The DSS DG who was represented at the event by the Commandant of the state service academy Lagos, Mr. Joseph Okpo, highlighted ways and strategies of how retired personnel can contribute effectively to national security.

He also noted that every security agency has the unique capability and operational skills that can complement the other.

Bichi also highlighted the dimensions of inter-service collaboration and overview security challenges in Nigeria.

The intelligence chief further explained the factors militating against inter-service collaboration and proffered solutions based on his experience.

He said: “There is need for greater synergy and collaboration among security agencies. Each agency has a unique capability and operational skills that can complement the other.”
