The Senate on Tuesday adjourned sitting to April 9 to enable its Committee on Appropriation submit its report on the 2019 Budget for consideration by the upper legislative chamber.

It also observed a minute silence in honour of the late member of the House of Representatives, Hon.Bello Sani (APC Matshi/Dutsi federal consituency in Katsina State), before suspending sitting in line with the tradition of the National Assembly.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, had earlier read the letters from President Muhammadu Buhari declining assent to eight bills.

The bills include Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency Bill 2018, National Institute of Credit Administration Bill 2018, National Housing Fund Bill 2018 and Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Bill 2018.
