The governor of Sokoto State Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has scored the highest number of votes in the Sokoto governorship election and he is set to be declared governor- elect.
Announcing the result at Maccido Quranic Institute Sokoto, the returning officer Prof Fatima Murghtar of Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State said Tambuwal of PDP polled 512,002. His closest rival Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto of APC polled 511,660
The returning officer is about to make a return and declaration of governor-elect.
