The National Chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), Hassan Bashir, Thursday contended that the commission has so far demarcated over 112 local government areas in all the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the previous Enumeration Areas Demarcation EAD exercises.

Speaking yesterday in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on the commencement of the fieldwork for the continuation of the enumeration areas demarcation, Bashir, who was represented by the National Federal Commissioner, representing Osun State, Senator, Mudashiru Husain, noted that the Enumeration Areas Demarcation would commence and take place in one LGA in each of the 23 selected states of the federation.

He stressed that the states are those with the latest set of Federal Commissioners sworn in by President Muhammad Buhari.

The chairman opined that at the end of the Enumeration Areas Demarcation (EAD), the commission would have successfully demarcated in all 135 LGAs while the remaining 639 LGAs will be covered in the subsequent programmes.
