Lagos International Jazz Festival Returns

Nigeria’s premier jazz festival, Lagos International Jazz Festival is set for another resounding edition at its traditional venue, Freedom Park, Lagos. This edition which holds on April 29 and 30 is the 11th anniversary of the mega jazz festival.

Powered by Inspiro Productions, the festival is one of the highlights of the Jazz Appreciation Month in Lagos. This edition has as theme, “Music and The Creative Art as Tools for Addressing Irregular/Illegal Mass Migration.” With a wide range of performances spread across three stages and two nights, the LIJF features international stars alongside home grown talents.

This edition is dedicated to African Jazz legend, Oliver Mtukudzi who died on January 23, 2019. “Tuku”, as he was fondly called was a Zimbabwean musician, businessman, philanthropist, human rights activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Southern Africa Region.

LIJF has put Lagos on the continental map as a vibrant jazz tourism destination in April, offering refreshing entertainment for night crawlers.
