Is INEC Working Against Ortom?

Why is life imitating art in Benue State this election season? Recall that the head of the Miyetti Allah group of Benue State, one who hides in protected seclusion at Abuja, Alhaji Garus Gololo, boasted only recently that the PDP would soon be turned into opposition party in Benue State; this Gololo fellow is the one who does not express disdain for the killing sprees carried out by armed Fulani gangs sequestered in Benue State.

To add salt to the injured pride of the people of Benue State, Garus Gololo went so far to declare that he had formed an alliance with Idoma women interest groups in Abuja in order to do the final push to oust Governor Samuel Ortom; this was a terrible lie.

It is strange about this loud-mouthed Gololo, but it is even stranger still that INEC seems to be pandering to the wishes of this Gololo and his ilk by declaring the results of the gubernatorial election in Benue State “inconclusive.” This “inconclusive” shenanigan also caught up with states like Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi, Adamawa, and Plateau where PDP was clearly in the lead at the point of collation of results got from different polling stations scattered across each of these states.

The situation is especially bad in Rivers State. To the man on the street in Minna, the capital of Niger State, INEC’s actions have only confirmed the whispered suspicion that the APC is an Islamic party but is this so, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu?
