Luciano Spalletti’s Nerazzurri won 2-0 at home to SPAL this past weekend to end a three-game winless streak across all competitions. They will be looking to complete a double over Milan (and reclaim third place) following a 1-0 win over their rivals earlier in the season, courtesy of a late strike from Mauro Icardi. The Argentine striker could return from exile for the derby following his recent wrangle with the club.
Elsewhere in Italy, Juventus will look to march one step closer to an eighth successive Scudetto when they play away to Genoa on Sunday afternoon. The Bianconeri enjoy an 18 point lead at the head of the table and manager Massimiliano Allegri (who is rumoured to be leaving the club) can afford to turn his focus on their UEFA Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid this midweek.
Napoli fell further behind Juve this past weekend when they were held 1-1 at Sassuolo, but they still look a strong bet to come home in second place. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will be at home to Udinese on Sunday evening, but they too may put more focus on their continental campaign as they take on Salzburg in a Europa League clash in the prior midweek.
Roma, who recently sacked Eusebio di Francesco and replaced him with Claudio Ranieri, will be away to SPAL, Lazio need to beat Parma at home to keep up their hopes of playing in Europe next season, and a key battle as far as relegation is concerned sees Empoli host Frosinone at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
