How Celebrities Partied Hard at MTV Base’s 14th Anniversary

It was a night of exhilarating fun and non-stop excitement as MTV Base recently marked its 14th anniversary in the continent. Known for showcasing the best of African music to the world, the music channel threw all in the ring to give fans and lovers of music a remarkable experience. With over 1500 party goers in attendance at the Mainland Block Party takeover compered by MTV Base VJ, Nenny B, alongside actor, Bolly Lomo, the partnered event featured everything from dance competitions to a relaxing poolside for guests to unwind at. The party also recorded impressive performances from artistes like Zlatan, Chinko Ekun, Skiibii and Ycee while fans had the time to mingle with their favourite celebrities like Falz, Niniola, DJ Spinall, DJ Neptune, Reekado Banks, among others.

“At MTV Base, we like to go big or go home. We knew that including our faithful audience in this year’s anniversary celebration was something we had to do, so it was imperative to ensure that they came to a party that would give them the complete MTV Base experience that they have come to know and love,” said Solafunmi Oyeneye, Senior Channel Manager of MTV Base. Launched on February 22, 2005, MTV base combines African and international music genres relevant to young African viewers including R’n’B, dancehall, hip-hop, kwaito, hip life, reggae, zouk, m’balax and Afrobeat, celebrating the cultural vibrancy and creativity of African music and artists.
