Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna state governor, has been re-elected for a second term. He polled 1,045,427 votes to defeat Isa Ashiru of the PDP who scored 814,168 votes.
The result of the election was announced by INEC returning officer, Prof. Mohammed Bello, of the Bayero University Kano (BUK) on Monday.
The result shows that the APC won in 14 Local Governments while the PDP won 9 councils.
