Adibuo Kelechi: I’ve Always Nurtured a Healthy Passion for Acting

My Story

Adibuo Kelechi is a fashion designer, fast rising model and a writer in her own class. Despite being in her late teens, she has been able to clock some heights and set her career on a fast pace. She talks to Tosin Clegg about her works, modeling, career at large and more

How did the journey begin?

I make unique designs out of Ankara fabrics and beautiful waist beads. Actually, I started when I was in 200 level at the university. I sold second hand wears in school and in neighbouring institutions. I’ve always nurtured a healthy passion for acting and I do hope to break real grounds on this path soon. About modelling, it is something I love doing and have been doing the best I can at the moment. Working with photographers like Weeshotit, kennyjayconcepts, elmooraphotography and also with a perfume brand Sapphire scents.

Talking about your new script, can you shed more light on it?

The script is about a female detective who takes up a case and believes getting justice for the victims is getting justice for herself since she suffered the same issue of being raped at a young age.

Tell us about your modelling and movies, companies and projects you have worked on?

I have been part of a beauty pageant contest, Ada na Opara Oguta and I was 1st runner up. Also, I was 1st runner up at Face of Sapphire Scents. Sapphire Scents is a perfume brand and I am still working with them as a model. Asides writing a script, which I believe would come out well, I starred in a short movie as an extra. I just cried in a particular scene, but more projects are welcome.

What are your set goals?

I actually do have lots and lots of goals to accomplish. Producing movies someday, appearing on Forbes magazine as a big time model, having so many books published, being a young entrepreneur that young people would actually look up to and also do well as a Barrister.

Who are your role models?

My parents are actually my first role models and mentors. Genevieve Nnaji has been my role model. I admire her strength and feature of being at the top of  her own game. Also, I have Tiannah of Tiannah Empire and Tolubally. They are both fashion designers.
