Survey: Hardwork, God, Highly Valued among Nigerians

The principle of hardwork and reverence for God are the two most highly prized values among Nigerians, a survey carried out by the Foundation for Values and Normative Change has revealed.

The survey was conducted by the foundation also known as ‘values volunteers’, on Facebook between January 27 and February 9, 2019.

According to the report sent to THISDAY by the Founder/Chairman of the foundation, Mr. Tunde Fagbenle, while 25 per cent of the respondents or 54 of them said that hardwork was the most important value, reverence for God was next, according to 24 per cent or 51 of the respondents polled.

The report stated that a Facebook poll conducted among 214 randomly chosen Nigerians was designed to test the value preference for a better Nigeria.

The report said: “Apart from hardwork and reverence for God, three other values highlighted in the survey are; integrity, 50, 23 per cent; honesty 31, 15 per cent; and kindness 28, 13 per cent.
