The Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Kadiri  Obafemi Hamzat (BOSKOH) campaign group has organised a ‘Save Lagos’ forum to enlighten students, security agencies and youths at Epe Local Development Area, on the benefits of  maintaining a violence- free atmosphere during elections.

The group urged the youths, security agencies, and students to save Lagos from the hands of violence and unjust electoral conducts.

They stressed the need for voters to make their voices heard by voting peacefully and for the candidate they believe can bring development in the state and the country as a whole.

Disclosing this at a media briefing, the coordinator BOSKOH campaign group, Mrs. Yetunde Akinluyi, explained that youths are no longer the leaders of tomorrow but the leaders of today, and that they have the influence and right to play leadership roles, and advocate for peace, in order to save Lagos and the country from a violent and unjust election.

Akinluyi said: “I want the youths to make the bold decision that they are not going to be used to create any form of violence and misconduct.

If any one comes to you telling you to go and fight refuse their offer. Reject any offer that requires you going to snatch ballot boxes. All we want is a peaceful transmission of power, because it is a peaceful society that can experience economical and social development.’’

Meanwhile, the Assistant General of National Association of Student Union, South west, Odufuwa Idris, stated that students and youths are supposed to be the biggest advocate for peace in the country.

“We are also using this medium to thank the leadership of Governor Ambode for the restructuring and development he has brought to Epe,’’ he added.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer, ProCare Suites and Resorts, Segun Osifeko, said as an advocate of peace, he was looking forward to a peaceful election, even though some people were predicting otherwise.

‘’We have been working as hard as possible to advocate for peaceful throughout the country, talking to our people to let go of any form of hatred or thoughts of violence.

“Coordinated by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, a lot has been invested into providing adequate security, so those of us at Epe do not expect any violent activities and electoral misconduct during the elections,” he added.
