Jigawa Deputy Gov, Two Others Win Senatorial Seats

The Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, has won the North East senatorial seat as he defeated the incumbent Senator Ubale Shitu.

The Returning Officer, Professor Ahmad Garko, announced the results yesterday in Dutse, the state capital.

He disclosed that Hadejia of the APC scored 184,185 votes to defeat his closest contender and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Shitu who polled 103,039 votes.

Also declared was the North West senatorial seat won by Danladi Sankara of the APC after securing 286,655 votes while Nasiru Umar Roni of the PDP scored 110,314 votes.

Also, the returning officer for the Jigawa Central senatorial district, Professor Adamu Usman Izge, announced the result.

According to him, the APC candidate, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, elected as Senator by scoring 224,543 votes against his main rival, Mustaph Sule Lamido of PDP, with a total 143,611 votes.‎
