Political parties have protested the huge number of cancelled votes in the presidential election in Nassarawa state.

While giving a breakdown of the presidential election in the state, the Collation Officer, Prof. Azuibike Nwanko, revealed that the APC presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari scored 289,903 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who scored 283,847 Votes.

However, political parties in attendance at the National Collation centre in Abuja expressed displeasure over the cancelled votes which stood at 157,591 votes.

Nwanko explained that the votes were cancelled because of gangsterism, failure to use smart card readers and over voting.

The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, said the commission will look at the issue.
