The presidential candidate of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari, has defeated the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in Kogi state.

Buhari polled 285,894 votes to defeat Atiku who scored 218, 207 votes.
However, the Collation Officer, Prof. Adikwu Michael, said that a total of 89,101 votes was cancelled due to electoral violence.

However, Osita Chidoka, a member of the main opposition party queried why the result of Dekina local government was added when smart card readers were not used, adding that INEC guidelines and regulations state that anywhere that the smart card reader is not used, it would be declared null and void.

He noted that the party will make a compilation of polling units that election did not take place.

The chairman of INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, assured that the issue would be revisited before the completion of the process.
