Ondo APC Begs Aspirants to Put Primary Elections Behind Them

By James Sowole in Akure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State yesterday begged  aspirants into various elective positions but who could not make it to put the issue of primaries behind them and join hands with the party to ensure victory during the general elections.

The State Chairman of APC, Mr  Ade Adetimehin made the plea during a  meeting in Akure with aspirants to the State Assembly and House of Representatives.

He said the task ahead calls for collaborative efforts of all the shareholders in the party to ensure victory at the pools.

Adetimehin acknowledged that the aspirants had expended scarce resources while in the race, but urged them to consider whatever expenses as worthy sacrifices for the party.

“We appreciate that you have spent money, and we know how difficult it is to raise money. However, we will continue to appeal for your understanding for peace and unity within the party”, he said.

He explained that major decisions of political parties during critical periods affect stakeholders differently: while some would be glad, others might have cause to be aggrieved.

The State Chairman reminded the aspirants of their individual contributions while building the party, adding, “we shouldn’t allow this building to collapse; we must be united to salvage it.”

Responding on behalf of the aspirants, Mr  Segun Ayerin, advised the party to take more steps to bring everybody on board.

Ayerin, a House of Representatives aspirant, said the state should explore every avenue to ensure victory for President Muhammadu Buhari come February, 2019.
