Why Nigeria’s Vice President treasures the magnate
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo bears like a badge, an indecipherable flame of affection for his friend, Abdulsamad Rabiu, the Chairman of BUA Group. Like the Californian wildfire, blistering and unquenchable in its wake, the bright flame of their friendship burns brilliantly across the social space and corridors of power even as you read.
There is no gainsaying that Nigeria’s Vice President is devoted to the BUA Group boss, the way a twin commits to his filial other.
It is an open secret that Osinbajo is fond of Rabiu hence whatever the latter does enjoys the goodwill of Nigeria’s VP; be it the commissioning of a factory or any high-octane occasion, VP Osinbajo always shows up. This can however, be attributed to the latter’s undisguised passion for Nigeria and also Rabiu has a lot of respect for Nigeria’s second most powerful citizen and he equally supports him in every way he can, whatever his (Osinbajo’s) endeavour.
However, becoming an industrialist however, is not mere lip service. It requires consistent effort and focus to grow from just being an entrepreneur with interest in a particular business to becoming a respected and renowned empire builder. Samad is one of such few men who started from the scratch, kept their nose to the grindstone and turned seemingly insignificant ideas into behemoth industries.
Indeed, very few magnates command the respect and attention of Osinbajo as Rabiu does and this has made the latter a great reference point for too many of his peers, who would trade places with him in heartbeat.
In an apparent display of love and comradeship, the duo jointly participated at the 2018 Africa Investment Forum. They were also pictured together during a meet-and-greet at the August event organised by the AFDB in Sandton, South Africa few days ago.
