Kwara Govt Approves N5,000 Monthly Allowances for  Corps’ Members

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, yesterday approved the immediate payment of N5,000 monthly stipend for youth corpers serving in the state.

Ahmed made this declaration in Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area while speaking at the official closing ceremony and end of orientation parade for the 2018 Batch ‘C’ stream one corps members posted to the state.

According to him, the welfare of corpers is paramount to him and that it is an avenue to add values to their socio-economic growth while serving in Kwara State.

The governor who was represented by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, said the governor was passionate about the welfare of corpers adding that he would continue to give priority to welfare of corpers.

The governor saluted the courage, patriotism, doggedness and loyalty demonstrated throughout the period of their stay in camp.

He advised the corps members to follow the indelible footprints of their predecessors by acting as catalyst of physical and socio-economic development of the state and country in general.

While assuring the corps members of the provision of adequate security of lives and properties, Govenor Ahmed implored them to accept their posting in good faith and report promptly to their various places of primary assignment.

He however, encouraged them to put into use all they learnt during their stay at the orientation camp.

In her remarks, the NYSC State coordinator, Mrs. Ikupolati Esther Tosin, thanked the governor for the good gesture saying he had always demonstrated fatherliness to the corpers through creation of enabling environment.

Ikupolati who also commended the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for renovating the hostels in the camp, however said that the state has been a major attraction to all corps members because of better treatment being enjoyed in the state.
