Adewale Ayuba, Desmond Elliot Bag Afroglobal  Award in Canada

Legendary Musician, Adewale Ayuba, and Nollywood actor-cum-lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, recently bagged the 2018 Afroglobal Award in Ontario, Canada.

While Ayuba won the Afroglobal Television Excellence award in entertainment, Elliot bagged the Renaissance award at the event which held at the Royalton Banquet Center.

Ayuba who expressed excitement said the award would give room for more recognition of Fuji music globally.
“I thank God for all His support, I am very honoured receiving the award of excellence, I see it as a door opener for Fuji music. I dedicate the award to all Fuji artists all over the world.

” Now we will see more acceptance of Fuji music among the international community and am planning to have some musical collaborations with some African musicians, this award will make it easier now,” he said.

Other recipients include, Portia Simpson-Miller, first female Prime Minister of Jamaica who received the Justice Irving Andre-Marcus Garvey lifetime achievement award; Dr Tosin Aluko, who received Science and Technology award; Dr Lenox Walker, who received the Leadership award; Mr Robert Katende carted the Global Impact award and Charmaine Tial won for Professional Achievement award.

Others are: Allen Remley for Nelson Mandela Humanitarian award; Hugh Graham for the Martin Luther King Jn Legacy award; Tammie Sutterland for the Media Award; Ikechukwu Nnamani for the Enterprise award; Aaliyah Cinello for the Rising star award; Peter Toh for the Heritage award; Leo Johnson for the Visionary award; Esther Enyolu for the community award; Paulette Senior for the Leadership award and Hon. Tony Ince for the Legacy award. Also, Ghanian actress, Jackie Appiah won the 2017 Afroglobal Television award of excellence in entertainment.
