The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed that he would not return to the Federal High Court in Abuja where he was standing trial for treason.

Kanu who made this known in a broadcast via Radio Biafra and monitored in Lagos, accused the Nigerian Army of killing 28 people when soldiers invaded his father’s house in September 2017.

He also added that the court was unable to protect him when officers and men of the Nigerian army laid siege in his compound with alleged plan to wipe out his entire family.

He said that he did not deliberately refused to appear before the court but was forced to do so because the court could not protect him.

Kanu vowed that he would not return to court, describing the court as kangaroo arrangement.

The IPOP leader who disappeared on September 14, 2017 said he was evacuated from his compound but did not name who evacuated him.

He said that Biafra when realised would develop intelligence with the capacity of Israeli’s MOSSAD to avenge the death of 28 people killed by the Nigerian army in his compound.

Kanu who said he was solidly behind the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose who is currently being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), said the judge who asked his sureties to produce him should have asked the army why they invaded his residence.

“Nigerian court is a Kangaroo court. I did not jump bail; I left because the court failed to protect me. I shall not be honouring the court. I cannot be tried by a court I do not recognise,” he said.

Kanu said that his people wanted a referendum for the Biafran State.

“I have missed you for 13 months. I pray for all of you seven times every day. There should be a moment of silence for the 28 persons who sacrificed their lives that we might live. Fulani killers sent killers to my compound to kill my entire family. I sustained a severe injury and 28 men fell,” he added..

Kanu said he was speaking from the holy land of Israel and promised to return home.

He narrated how he and his family members escaped what he described as assault, promising that the “efficiency of the MOSSAD” would be replicated in the IPOB intelligence to avenge the blood of IPOB family members that fell and boasted that no mortal can kill him.

“I will come back to Biafra land. I was evacuated from my compound. I and all Biafrans stand with Gov. Fayose at this dark hour of persecution. My unavailability was not voluntary but was forced upon me. The notion that I jumped bail is a fallacy, a lie, and a deceit. I’m not afraid of them and can never be. They’re the ones afraid of me and IPOB. I am a Biafran, and I hold British citizenship,” he said.
