Amorka to Celebrate New Yam Festival Oct. 13

Come Saturday, October 13, the New Yam Festival of HRH Igwe K.O. Obiriolemgbe Jide Ofor the V of Amorka in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, will hold.

Expected to grace the occasion are Anambra South Chairman of Seplat Petroleum, Dr ABC Ojiakor; Ihiala House of Representatives member, Hon Emeka Anohu; former House of Representatives member Hon Vitalis Okafor; former House of Representative member Hon Chuma Nzeribe; Hon Chidi Udemadu; APGA senatorial candidate in Anambra South, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu; CEO Westfield, Chief Henry Okolie-Aboh and former House of Representatives candidate in 2015, Chudy Ifeanyi Momah.

All the traditional rulers in Anambra South are also expected to attend the New Yam Festival of the traditional ruler, who is also the Deputy Chairman Anambra-South Traditional Rulers Council and the Chairman Ihiala Traditional Rulers Council.

The monarch in a statement made available to journalists disclosed that the people of Anambra-South would witness another exciting moment during the festival.

According to him, “Iri-ji is an annual event that we observe to promote the culture and tradition of the igbos. It brings us together as a community to celebrate and also brainstorm on way forward of our community.

“As the Deputy Chairman Anambra South Traditional Rulers Council and the Chairman Ihiala Traditional Rulers Council, I am extending the new yam festival invitation to sons and daughters of Amorka, indigenes of Ihiala LGA and Anambra South, friends and wellwishers in Anambra and beyond.”
