• Kano stakeholders protest at secretariat

A former Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mr. Suleiman Abba yesterday vented his anger on the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the outcome of the primary election in Jigawa State.
Also yesterday, some angrieved stakeholders from Kano State APC stormed the national secretariat of the party in Abuja to protest the outcome of the Kano South senatorial district’s primary election.
Abba contested for the party’s ticket for Jigawa South senatorial district but was later disqualified from the race by the leadership of the party.
However, no reason was given for disqualification of Abba.
Speaking to journalists at the National Secretariat in Abuja, Abba wondered why he was ‘schemed out’ of the race having been a card-carrying member of the party for not less than 18 months.
He threatened to use prayers against those who disqualified him from the race.
“Let me say that this is not a time for too much talks; this is a time for prayers, and I want you all to please join me in this prayer. The prayer is this, Almighty God, any person copying you and their powers should not be in this headquarters of the APC. Almighty God, if there is already one, you know what to do, so that you don’t allow him to continue copying you.
“Almighty God, any person claiming to be an officer of the APC; if he will not work with the vision and the mission of the APC, Almighty God, don’t allow him to use the demon style of destroying the APC,” he said.
The former police boss said:, “You know also too well that I am over 18 months card-carrying member of the APC. And you are also aware that a list was released where I was duly cleared and another list was also released delisting my name.”
Also yesterday, some angry stakeholders from Kano State APC stormed the national secretariat of the party in Abuja to protest the outcome of the Kano south senatorial district primary election.
Nuru Shehu Giwa who led the protesters said that “people turned out to vote at primary election but the governor suspended the exercise but later announced Senator Kabiru Gaya as winner of the senatorial primary election.”
The group which is apparently supporting another aspirant, Sumaila Kawo threatened that they will vote against APC if nothing was done to reverse the verdict.
