Nissan drives new UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour

Nissan, the ‘Engineers of Excitement’, will mark the start of their fifth season as a leading UEFA Champions League partner by introducing their new and innovative UEFA Champions League Trophy tour to fans across the continent.

Central to Nissan’s journey across Europe will be the ‘Football Lab’ – a, 140 square metre state of the art structure, which will visit seven major UEFA Champions League cities, across five countries over the next three months. The Nissan ‘Football Lab’ lab will first visit Dortmund in Germany.

The tour will then progress to other football hotbeds: London, Lyon, Paris, Turin, Barcelona and finally Madrid, which is the host city for this season’s UEFA Champions League final in June 2019.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Events SA Marketing Director commented: ‘The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour is a unique opportunity for fans across Europe to be part of the competition. We are delighted to have Nissan on board, who are showing such a great deal of innovation and are providing such excitement for the fans.

Everyone who loves football, irrespective of their club allegiance, is encouraged to come along for what promises to be a memorable experience which will be driven by a mixture of football and technology.

The centrepiece of the event will be the opportunity given to supporters to see one of football’s most iconic pieces of silverware. The UEFA Champions League Trophy stands at 73 centimetres and weighs 7.45 kilogrammes. The illustrious prize will be suspended in the air, allowing fans the chance to take some memorable and amazing photographs.

Nissan will also showcase its Intelligent Mobility technologies, which will allow fans to witness and experience the very latest innovations for a more connected, exciting and sustainable world.

The Nissan ‘Football Lab’ will also be ‘kitted out’ with numerous UEFA Champions League content pieces, such as memorabilia and the latest merchandise.

For each city location, UEFA legends will also be on hand to host fans and give them a once in a lifetime meet and greet opportunity.

Jean Pierre Diernaz, Vice President Marketing at Nissan Europe stated: “Football fans are at the heart of what we do at Nissan and we are constantly innovating to ensure we offer the most exciting experiences possible. For this Trophy Tour, we will use our industry leading technology present in our vehicles to connect fans to the game in new ways.”
