The international DJ group composed of record producer Diplo, and disc jockeys Jillionaire and Walshy Fire will be performing for the first time in Nigeria on October 5. Nigeria is one of the countries the group will be visiting in their Africa tour which includes countries such as South Africa, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda.
The American group over the years has become a favourite among most Nigerian artistes. Recently, they released a new project called ‘Afrobeats Mix’, a 17-track record that featured Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Nasty C, Raye, Kizz Daniel as well as hit songs by Davido and Niniola.
The group in a statement said they are inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Africa . “We wanted to bridge our music with all these new sounds and genres coming out of the continent.”
The concert themed ‘Major Lazer SoundSystem Live’, is packaged by U-Live Nigeria and will take place at Hard Rock Beach, Lagos.
