Ese Owie, son of former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Roland Owie, yesterday unveiled his political aspiration to run for the red chamber of the National Assembly under the umbrella of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).

The junior Owie who submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at the ADP secretariat along New Lagos road, Benin City, said the political platform is an alternative party for Nigerians since the two major political parties – All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed the people and the country.

Speaking with journalists, he said previous representatives in the senate from the area also failed, insisting that as senator, he would work with the executive arm to improve infrastructure development and human capacity development of the people.

“We have been denied adequate representation for a long time. Our infrastructure has decayed that need to be touched.

“This is not about my personal ambition; we must not leave the space for people who are not ready to work. I am ready to work and we should ensure that for once our children get a better future. There must be a paradigm shift in the way things are done in this country.

“Our health institutions in Edo south are bad, 30 to 40 years ago, people giving birth had access to quality health facilities and services and we have the capacity to bring such scenarios back to our people”

Earlier, the state chairman of the party, Gabriel Oloruntobi said the ADP was going places with its recent showing in the recent Osun State governorship election even as he assured the party members that the party would continue to field credible candidates in all elections in the country.

He described Owie as a credible young aspirant that could make the difference in terms of lawmaking for the god of the people.
