A House of Representatives member representing Namoda/Birnin/Magaji federal constituency in Zamfara State, Hon. Sani Jaji, Thursday alleged plots by some forces to prevent the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from selling governorship nomination form to him.

Speaking with journalists at the Blantrye Crescent APC secretariat, Abuja immediately after obtaining the forms, Jaji said he went ahead with his governorship ambition despite efforts to stop him.

According to Jaji, who described an arrangement by some stakeholders in the state to deprive those aspiring to governorship position the opportunity through imposition as “illegality”, said he was prepared to contest against any other aspirant on the APC platform.

“I am not in agreement with issues of imposition. I am not in agreement with issue of illegality, because when we were in our stakeholders’ meeting in Zamfara State yesterday, I said it before everybody that I had dropped the money for my nomination and aspiration forms and therefore what they were trying to do was illegal and that we were not party to it”, he said.

Describing the nomination form as an instrument that will liberate Zamfara people from backwardness, Jaji said: “It is now time to know the people who want to truncate democracy in Zamfara State; they tried all they could to make sure that this day did not happen. They tried to make sure the National Secretariat did not sell this form to me because they know that I know that some of them are part of the people that are praying that President Muhammadu Buhari does not contest the 2019.”
