The search for fresh talents in sports has begun in Lagos as MIBOD Global Resources collaborates with U.S.-based Boss Lady Promotions and Austria-based Henry Lewis Promotions. The talent hunt is arguably the first-of-its-kind, as it targets all aspects of sporting events except soccer. It is created as an annual event which upon a success story will become a pan-African event.

At a recent press briefing held at the SIEO building in Ikoyi, the CEO, MIBOD Global Resources, Ms. Biola Okoya revealed that the evolving project is an initiative formed to identify potential excellence in sport through entertainment content.

As part of the pre-event affairs, the team had visited the Police College and some poor communities in Lagos in preparation for the event which will be held simultaneously in different parts of the country.

In addition to fetching professionals to train the discovered talents, the partnering organisations will provide a few of the equipment required for training such as the boxing gloves, bandages amongst others. This community-based project is expected to contribute to the nation’s knowledge economy while providing job opportunities for trainers and trainees.

Boss Lady Promotions has a non-profit gym in the U.S. that keep children off the streets, away from crime. Likewise, Henry Lewis Promotions, owned by Nigerian-born Lewis is a big Austrian brand that manages sporting talents, especially in boxing.

The organisers of this talent hunt are still developing a sustainable template for the project which will form a content for a documentary movie soon.
