UDUTH Inaugurates new Anti-corruption, Transparency Unit

The management of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto State (UDUTH) yesterday inaugurated officials of the new Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) to steer its affairs for the next two years.

Those inaugurated are Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim as Chairman; Dr. Mairo Hassan, Yahaya Ibrahim, Sharahu Almajir, Ibrahim Auwal, members while Muawiyya Umar to serve as Secretary.

Speaking during the inauguration of the officials, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Anas Sabir, said the aim of the anti-corruption unit was to ensure the adherence of due process in the hospital.

He stressed the importance of the anti-corruption and transparency unit in any meaningful organisation.

Sabir advised the new executive members of the unit to work as a team in order to achieve the set objectives.

While urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them, the chief medical director tasked the officers to work tirelessly through internal checks mechanism to ensure that transparency and due process are adhered in the hospital.

He therefore wished them a successful tenure.

Earlier, the Director of Administration of the hospital, Alhaji Salim Ibrahim, expressed the commitment of the management of the hospital towards improving transparency and due process in the hospital, hence the decision to reactivate the anti-corruption unit which was hitherto moribund for some time.
