For the second run of her one woman-act ‘Naked’ Lala took her audience on a more intimate journey. The new venue, the Presidential Suite of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos provided the right ambience as she regaled her audience with a honest story about her life.

From the early days of her life as a student in Queens College,Yaba; how she fought for acceptance because of her strong feature, a near rape experience, falling in love and her struggles in building a career for her self.

Accentuated with poems and music, Lala’s show was a portrayal of gender inequality in Nigeria. A feminist herself, she addressed issues such as indoctrination and objectification of women.

Naked was met with great applause at its debut in February as part of the British Council’s Lagos Theatre Festival.

It was produced by the thespian’s production company ‘The Make It Happen Productions (TMIHP)’ and The Performing Arts Workshop and Studios (PAWS) founded by Kenneth and Brenda Uphopho.
Oludara Shyngle was the associate producer, while Titilope Sonuga wrote the play.
